French Music Friday- La Grande Sophie

Standard

Bonjour mes chers,

Today we will be listening to La Grande Sophie- Ne m’oublie pas.

I’ve been singing/ sort of dancing to it in my room while cleaning.

My favourite line of the song is “ne m’oublie pas dans tes poches petit bouton perdu”Translated it says: “don’t forget me in your pockets, little lost button.”

I hope you like the song and video.

Sing it with me:

Ne m’oublie pas…

French Music Friday : Benjamin Biolay

Standard

Bonjour bonjour!

The first week of the year is officially gone! Today we will be listening to Benjamin Biolay. I love listening to him.  First, he has a smooth voice which I find easy to listen to. I have to admit it is a bit of dreamy.  Secondly, you’ll probably laugh and think I’m crazy or think ” oh yeah I see it” Here goes, Biolay reminds me of Benecio del toro. Alright, now picture them together. Huh? huh? yes. no? Maybe? Third, the majority of his videos are in black and white. Self explanatory, I think by now we know J’adore black and white photography, and video. Let’s take a listen shall we?

Other tracks to listen to:

Aime mon Amour

Dans le merco benz

La Superbe

Tu es mon amour

I had to!

Last French Music Friday OF 2012!

Video

Bonsoir a tous!

I can’t believe it’s the last friday of the year!

Where is the time going???

I was going to post my new years resolutions and then I remembered the date.

Well the ideal song I would post would be Edith Piaf’s Non je ne regrette rien.

No regrets let’s look forward to the new year and moments ahead.

I posted the song already on a French Music Friday.

You can hear it here.

Today we’ll  also listen to Brune- Rupture song

A la Prochaine,

French Music Fridays: Isabelle Pierre

Standard

Hello Lovely readers!

My favourite day of the week is here!

Friday= French Music!

Let me tell you a little story about the song featured  today.

In my last year of university I worked as a technical assistant in our school’s theatre.

Picture this,  steel toe boots and the occasional yellow hard hat. Climbing ladders and scaffolds, wrench in pocket, ready to focus the crap of any light that needed a gel or gobo. It was the life.

My favourite times on the job were the nights where we had to strike sets. Usually on those nights all the work-studies would be scheduled. I would almost always have the pleasure of working with this lovely quebecois girl. She would practise her english and I would practise my french. We had an awesome set-up. Everytime I hear this song, I remember working with her and every single time without fail we would sing this song at some point during our shift together. Every time.

Now picture two girls belting this out leading a group of people to put away clothes or props.

French Music Friday! November 30th

Standard

Bonsoir!

It’s Friday!

You know what that means.. French Music!

I first heard this song in a Parisian restaurant.

I was eating the first and by far the best cassoulet ever. It was a quiet, rainy night filled with adventurous possibilities. The restaurant was cozy, warm, rustic. I don’t know how to explain it but I instantly felt at home, in that city, in that restaurant. At one point that night, this song started playing.  The server sang along to it as he walked past our table winking at us.

T’es Beau- Pauline Croze

And with that I’ll sign off with an online wink 😉
